NSF Public Access Requirement FAQs

Dear Colleague,

Please see the email below for FAQs on NSF public access policy concerning publications, including “juried” conference papers, that will go into effect for articles resulting from awards made for proposals submitted, or due, on or after January 25, 2016.  In particular, NSF will be requiring principal investigators to deposit a copy of the publications in the NSF public access repository hosted by the Department of Energy (DOE) that is expected to become available by the end this year.  I will forward more information as it becomes available.

FYI, the WebEx recording of the Part I presentation made by Roger Weaver and Tracy Primich on “Open Access and Research Data Management Plan” is available at  Part II of this presentation is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2015 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm in Carver-Turner Room, Havener Center.  You are cordially invited to attend this presentation to learn more about what agencies are now requiring for federally funded research results.  If you are planning to attend, please register at

With best regards, Krishna
