Pivot at S&T  New this week from our subscription service PIVOT here are a few intriguing opportunities

NIH Small Research Grant Program (Parent R03) National Institutes of Health (NIH) This funding opportunity supports small research projects that can be carried out in a short period of time with limited resources including pilot and feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small,self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; and development of new research technology.
Science of Learning: Collaborative Networks (SL-CN) National Science Foundation (NSF) This opportunity invites proposals for the creation of new networks of investigators, each of which will engage researchers from different disciplines to focus on advancing basic research and translating findings frombasic research on learning to applications to benefit society and further inform fundamental theories of learning.
Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) – Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) – Innovative Energy Efficiency and Energy Security Initiatives (CERL-4)  Department of the Army U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Proposals are sought that address the need for improved energy efficiency and improved energy security by federal, state, and private sector energy users. Federal agencies are required to meet stringent energyefficiency targets mandated by Executive Order. Products/methods/techniques that will improve overall energy efficiency or reduce reliance on nonrenewableenergy sources are of interest.
Solid State and Materials Chemistry (SSMC) National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS) Division of Materials Research (DMR) This multidisciplinary program supports basic research in solid state and materials chemistry comprising the elucidation of the atomic and molecular basis for material development and properties in the solid state fromthe nanoscale to the bulk.
